Lee Maelzer, supervisor at UEL Fine Art Programmes
Artist (painter and occasional filmmaker) Lee Maelzer, studied at Central St Martins (BA Hons) and Royal College of Art (MA Fine Art, painting), has taught since 1992 at Winchester College of Art, City and Guilds, Central St Martins and the Royal Academy. Widely exhibited in Britain and abroad and in private and museum collections internationally. Recently become a Fellow of Education. My role at UEL as a lecturer is to assist the students in their own practice, guide them wherever necessary and also to provide technical and practical support in painting, where I consider I have some expertise. I also conduct the second year seminars and co-run the second year BA Programmes.
Activities and responsibilities
Co-running second year fine art Programmes with Alexis Harding. Tutor to students in first, second and third year, secondary supervisor to several Prof Doc students.
Areas of Interest/Summary of Expertise
Art History, literature, bookbinding, colour theory and technical help with painting in general.
